Nassim Varasteh

Nassim Varasteh, is a Canadian karateka born in Iran in 1981. Nassim is known for the silver medals she won in women’s individual kumite under 60 kilos at the 2006 and 2008 world karate championships. Now she is a member of Canada National Coach Kumite.

Parviz Tanavoli

Since 1989 Parviz Tanavoli has lived and worked both in Tehran and Vancouver, Canada. One of the most famous artists and sculptor around the world. His latest solo exhibition was in 2019 at the West Vancouver Art Museum entitled “Oh Nightingale”. His works has been displayed at the British Museum – London, the Grey Art Gallery – New York University, the Isfahan City Center – Iran, Metropolitan Museum – New York, Minneapolis Institute of Art – Minneapolis, Olympic Park – Seoul, S. Korea, Qatar National Museum, Royal Museum – Jordan, Royal Scottish Museum – UK, the Museum of Modern Art – Vienna, Museum of Modern Art – New York, Walker Art Center – Minneapolis, Shiraz University – Iran, Tate Modern – London and in numerous other prestigious venues around the world.

Hassan Khosrowshahi

Persis Holdings Ltd., founded in 1981 by Hassan Khosrowshahi. Persis has made substantial investments in several sectors including land development, high rise development, shopping centres, retail real estate, pharmaceutical royalties, entertainment royalties and retail. Khosrowshahi had an estimated net worth of $1.16 billion in 2016.

Sam Mizrahi

Sam Mizrahi is a Canadian real estate developer who is active in Toronto. Mizrahi is best known for being the developer of “The One” skyscraper at the intersection of Yonge and Bloor streets in Toronto. Outside of his work at Mizrahi Developments, Sam is highly regarded as a generous and engaged philanthropist who enjoys supporting a wide range of charitable initiatives.

Ahmad Reza Tabrizi

In 2001, the founder of Parya, Mr. Ahmad Reza Tabrizi, along with co-founders Mrs. Zarrin Mohyeddin and Dr. Fahimeh Mortazavi decided to work together in order to establish a facility to provide culturally appropriate, Persian-language services to the Iranian-Canadian community, particularly seniors. He also  is a co-founder and board of direct member of Iranian Canadian Business Council (ICBC), a Canadian federal and non-for-profit corporation with the aim to empower the entrepreneurs.

Ata Moeini

In 1989, Ata and Neda Moeini immigrated to Canada and settled in Toronto. The Moeinis quickly realised that they are a part of a greater market of newcomers needing to connect home, so in 1991, they launched Gold Line Telemanagement Inc. to fill this void in the most practical and cost-effective way.

Karim Hakimi

Karim Hakimi is an Iranian Canadian entrepreneur and optician, known for founding Hakim Optical, a large chain of eyeglass stores across Canada. At first, he sold his lenses door-to-door, directly to optician shops. From this beginning as a single retail outlet, Hakimi has built Hakim Optical into a national chain of over 150 outlets with over 600 employees serving the eastern provinces of Canada.

Amir Khadir

Amir Khadir is a Canadian politician in the National Assembly of Quebec (MNA), Canada for the electoral district of Mercier, and the first male spokesperson for Québec solidaire, a sovereigntist and left-wing political party. On December 8, 2008, Khadir became the first, and at that time, only elected representative for Québec Solidaire in the general election in Quebec.

Ghermezians

The Ghermezian family is a Persian Jewish family who have developed several of the world’s largest shopping malls. The family’s estates include the West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta and the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. In 2011, the family’s Triple Five Group acquired the troubled Xanadu Meadowlands project in New Jersey, they renamed the project “American Dream”. The mall opened on October 25, 2019.

Mehrdad has been actively involved in preserving and reviving Iranian culture, a subject that is close to his heart. Over the course of years of volunteer work, he has served as chair and board member for many organizations devoted to promotion of Iranian culture and intellectual heritage within academia, Iranian community and Canadian society.
